# Welcome to Rips

1. **Overview**

RIPS is a gamified discovery platform for onchain assets. It turns coin discovery into a fun, transparent experience where users open digital packs filled with cards backed by real ERC-20 tokens from verified projects and creators. Each rip helps people find new coins, communities, and ecosystems worth paying attention to.

As more assets move onchain, it’s harder for users to surface quality projects, and harder for builders to reach real participants. RIPS solves both: it gives users a safe, engaging way to explore crypto, and gives projects a new distribution channel directly to active, onchain users.

At its core, RIPS merges entertainment, crypto, and onchain culture, making discovery feel like play, not spreadsheets. Packs, pulls, and social moments are fully onchain and transparent, so collecting stays fun while trust remains high.

2. **The Problem & Opportunity**

Discovery is fragmented. Tens of thousands of tokens launch across chains, but most never reach the right audience. Meanwhile, wallets and social protocols are converging: social feeds trigger wallet actions, and wallet activity becomes social proof. That convergence creates a new surface for Gamified Discovery, where finding and collecting tokens is interactive, social, fun and transparent.

Infrastructure (L2s/DEXs) powers settlement; social protocols like Farcaster power distribution; RIPS provides the interactive layer. By sitting natively inside the social-wallet stack, RIPS turns curiosity into participation: open a pack, discover new tokens, compare pulls, swap what you don’t want, and keep ripping. It’s a cultural front-end to onchain markets.

With global crypto ownership now widespread and DEX activity at new highs, the addressable surface for a playful, high-signal discovery layer is large and growing. RIPS is built to amplify that surface through game design, transparency, and community.
